Born in 1976 in Nice, Nicolas Laty has sculpted glass since 1996, blending it with wood, minerals, bronze, and silicone to create extravagant animals. The artists first exhibited at Venice’s Rosella Junck gallery during their Venezia Vetro exhibition in 2002. Taking advantage of the supple versatility of glass, he crafts pieces at 1150°C and above, playing with transparency, opacity, and texture. Laty’s whimsical creatures are exhibited in galleries around the world.
